Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 11, 2026 • Last updated: March 20, 2026

At OpenAdapter, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy describes how OpenAdapter, Inc. ("OpenAdapter", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website and services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an OpenAdapter account, we collect your name and email address. If you sign up via OAuth (GitHub, Google), we receive only the profile data you authorize.

1.2 Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you use OpenAdapter, including API request logs (timestamps, endpoints, response codes), feature interactions, and error reports. This data is aggregated and used solely to improve reliability and performance.

1.3 Payment Information

Billing is handled entirely by DodoPayments. We never store your full card number or CVV on our servers. We retain only a payment method token and the last four digits of your card for display purposes.

1.4 Communications

If you contact us via email or our support channel, we retain those communications to resolve your inquiry and improve our service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: (a) provide, operate, and maintain OpenAdapter; (b) process transactions and send related notifications; (c) respond to comments and questions; (d) send administrative messages, security alerts, and product updates; (e) monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve the service; (f) detect, prevent, and address technical issues and abuse.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

3. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. API request logs are retained for 90 days. Aggregated, anonymized analytics may be kept indefinitely. Upon account deletion, personal data is purged within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

4.1 Service Providers

We work with third-party service providers to operate the Service. These include: DodoPayments (payment processing), PostHog (analytics), and LLM inference providers such as Chutes, 0G, and OpenRouter. While we take reasonable steps to select reputable providers, these third parties operate under their own privacy policies and may use anonymized or aggregated data for their own purposes, such as model improvement or service optimization. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these providers.

4.2 No Data Retention by OpenAdapter

OpenAdapter does not store, log, or retain the content of your prompts or model responses. Your data passes through our infrastructure only to route requests to the appropriate inference provider. We hold only analytics data (via PostHog) and subscription/billing data (via DodoPayments). All LLM inference is handled directly by third-party providers.

4.3 Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) Models

For enhanced privacy, we offer select models running inside Trusted Execution Environments (TEE), where inference occurs in isolated, encrypted compute enclaves. Data processed by TEE models is not accessible to the inference provider, OpenAdapter, or any third party — even at the hardware level. TEE-enabled models currently include: GLM-4.7-TEE, Qwen Max, DeepSeek V3.2, GPT-OSS-120B, and GLM-5-TEE.

4.4 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others.

4.5 Business Transfers

If OpenAdapter is acquired, merged, or undergoes a change of control, your information may be transferred. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on our website prior to any such transfer.

5. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, regular security audits, and role-based access controls. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to or restrict certain processing; and data portability. To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@openadapter.dev. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and session management. We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how visitors use our site. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

8. Children's Privacy

OpenAdapter is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated effective date and, where appropriate, via email. Your continued use of OpenAdapter after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
