Refund Policy
Effective date: May 28, 2026 • Last updated: May 28, 2026
Paid subscriptions are non-refundable unless required by applicable law. OpenAdapter uses DodoPayments and Paddle.com as its authorised payment providers. Each acts as the Merchant of Record for the transactions it processes, and your statutory consumer rights are always respected.
1. Overview
This Refund Policy describes how refunds are handled for paid OpenAdapter subscriptions. OpenAdapter works with DodoPayments and Paddle.com as its authorised payment providers. Both act as the Merchant of Record for the transactions they process and handle payment processing, billing, taxes, and refunds on our behalf. The applicable provider for your purchase is shown on your order confirmation and invoice. By subscribing to a paid plan, you accept the terms set out below.
2. General Position
Unless required by applicable law or as expressly set out in this policy, all transactions for OpenAdapter subscriptions are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. OpenAdapter is a digital service delivered immediately upon subscription, and access to the service begins as soon as your payment is processed.
3. Statutory Cooling-Off and Withdrawal Rights
Where local consumer protection law gives you a non-waivable right to cancel or withdraw from a purchase, that right will be honoured. The following statutory windows apply based on your country of residence:
3.1 European Union, EEA, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Turkey, Israel
You have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase. By starting to use the service before the end of that period, you may lose this right in accordance with applicable digital content and services consumer law.
3.2 South Korea, Brazil, Canada, China
You have a 7-day cancellation right from the date of purchase, subject to local consumer protection law.
3.3 Singapore
You have a 5-day cancellation right from the date of purchase, subject to local consumer protection law.
3.4 Other jurisdictions
Where local consumer protection law grants you a non-waivable right to a refund or cancellation, that right will apply. Where local law and this policy differ, the highest level of consumer rights will always apply.
4. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard or through the payment provider that handled your purchase (DodoPayments or Paddle). Cancellation stops future billing; your access continues until the end of the current billing period. Cancellation by itself does not entitle you to a refund of fees already paid for the current period, except where required by law under Section 3.
5. How to Request a Refund
5.1 Contact OpenAdapter
To request a refund, email us at billing@openadapter.dev from the email address associated with your account. Please include your order ID (provided in your purchase confirmation) and the reason for your request.
5.2 Contact the Payment Provider Directly
Because DodoPayments and Paddle.com act as the Merchant of Record for the transactions they process, you may also contact them directly. For purchases processed by Paddle, contact Paddle buyer support at paddle.net. For purchases processed by DodoPayments, contact DodoPayments support using the details on your order confirmation. The provider will coordinate with us where required.
6. Processing Time and Method
6.1 Processing Timeline
Once a refund is approved, it is processed by the original payment provider (DodoPayments or Paddle). The time to reach your account depends on the provider and your card issuer or bank — typically within 5 to 10 business days, though it may vary by payment method and region.
6.2 Original Payment Method
All refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. Refunds cannot be issued to a different card, account, or via an alternative method. If your original payment method is closed or expired, the timeline may be further affected by your bank's procedures.
6.3 Currency and Fees
Refunds are issued in the original transaction currency. Currency conversion differences, foreign transaction fees, or charges applied by your bank are outside the control of OpenAdapter, DodoPayments, or Paddle and are not reimbursed.
7. Exceptions
7.1 Policy Violations
Accounts suspended or terminated for breach of our Terms of Service — including abuse, account sharing, or fraudulent activity — are not eligible for refunds beyond any non-waivable statutory rights.
7.2 Service Availability
OpenAdapter routes requests through multiple third-party inference providers. Routine latency, rate limiting, or temporary unavailability from upstream providers does not on its own entitle you to a refund.
7.3 Taxes
Taxes already remitted to tax authorities by DodoPayments or Paddle on completed transactions are not refundable by OpenAdapter and are subject to the relevant provider's processes and applicable tax law.
8. Statutory Rights
Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any non-waivable refund, cancellation, or other consumer protection rights you may have under the law of the country in which you reside. Where local law provides a higher level of consumer protection than this policy, that local law will prevail.
9. Contact
For refund or billing questions, contact OpenAdapter at billing@openadapter.dev, Paddle buyer support at paddle.net, or DodoPayments support using the details on your order confirmation.
